Abstract

Brazil is one of the main countries that has adapted Integrated Coastal Management Programs and Plans (mci) with the aim of creating a sustainable coastal State. In this way, it has coordination, integration and proposal of policies for Integrated Coastal Management within the scope of the Interministerial Commission for Sea Resources (cirm). The objective of this article is to investigate and analyze the situation of the Brazilian mci in terms of its public policies, regulations, competencies, institutions, instruments, training, profitable characteristics, knowledge and information, education for sustainability and the participation of those involved.
